- Gypsy leaves Woodrow alone for a while and then goes to ask him if he's mad at her. He says that he's not, and she tells him about the baby birds whose mother died—and how they need worms.
- Woodrow is looking at the personal ads in the paper and he shows some of them to her.
- He also tells her more about how Aunt Belle was so fascinated with places where two things come together, like twilight and dawn or her life with Grandpa and Granny and her life with Uncle Everett.
- Woodrow says that he truly believes that Aunt Belle is in a whole other world. Gypsy doesn't totally buy this, though, because he checks the personal ads pretty religiously every week. But she doesn't say anything.
