the others in mal
- Titus and Violet are still at the party watching a feedcast movie called Snowblind, which is about some mob shenanigans taking place at a ski resort. Violet is not amused by this comedy.
- Marty and Link try to get Titus to go into mal. Titus Just Says No, since Violet's not into that kind of thing. They amp up the peer pressure and tell him that she'll never know.
- Titus angrily asks them to remember what they all just went through, but Link and Marty are clueless.
- Titus watches while Marty and Link go into mal, along with several others in the room who are already quivering and out of it.
- Violet invites him outside to talk, where they talk about trees and mountains and Titus avoids telling her that his friends are going into mal. He doesn't want her to feel sorry for them.
- He finally tells her that people have gone right back to how they were before they got hacked.
- Violet notes that people just want to forget it happened and then drops a bombshell: her feedware is damaged. The doctors are going to have to make some adjustments to repair it, since it hasn't stabilized yet.
- The two kiss and hug while standing in the "synthetic breeze" (20.66).
