Flora and Ulysses Chapter 66 Summary

Will You Please, Please Shut Up, William Spiver?

  • Once everyone is inside, Dr. M reports that they've been chatting with Ulysses. So far, they've figured out that the story involves a shovel, sack, the woods, a poem, and a giant donut. Any guesses?
  • Flora fills them in that her mom kidnapped Ulysses and took him to the woods.
  • Then she suggests they grab a typewriter so they can learn the truth. At this, William chimes in that they might never know the truth, and Flora tells him to shut it.
  • Just then, they hear a scream and Mr. Klaus attacking someone. Oh no—it's Phyllis.
  • Ulysses to the rescue. Everyone follows, including Tootie, who is still holding the lamp.
  • There's a big kerfuffle, and Phyllis screams out for her baby.
  • Nope, Phyllis wants to know where her other baby—Flora—is. She was so worried about her when she went home and her daughter wasn't there.
  • Wow, Flora's surprised her mom even noticed.
