Jumped Chapter 10 Summary

Think Cold War Russia

  • In history class, Dominique knows the answer but doesn't raise her hand.
  • She feels badly for her teacher and likens his passion and preparedness to her being ready for a basketball game. So she answers his question.
  • The rest of the class sits silently. Crickets chirping.
  • In an effort to get the class involved, the teacher makes an analogy between a girl in class marrying a boy in the class but the future mothers in law agree on absolutely nothing. Of course, this gets the class a little more lively.
  • Dominique has compassion for the teacher; she thinks he's weird, but she respects the love he has for his game—teaching.
  • And then Dominique thinks that one of the girls in class is just totally different from her—cute acting, but ultimately dishonest.
