Artist to Artist
- Ivan is visiting Trina in the hospital. Trina is in a coma, and her mother is at the chapel praying, so Ivan keeps Trina company and has a one-sided conversation with her. He thinks her portrait of him was too pretty and not real enough, and he tells her that her art is still up, even though Black History Month is long in the past.
- When the nurses kick Ivan out, he leaves a card that Trina's friends and teachers and some cops signed.
- He also redid Trina's portrait, and he posts the new portrait in her room so that people can see "what she really looks like" (34.13).
