Moving (1942)
- At the end of the summer, Henry gets bad news: Everyone at Camp Harmony is being moved inland. Keiko now writes to him once a week, which means that he gets regular news about what's going on.
- He's kind of surprised that the letters get to him, since he thought that his father would throw them out. But his mother secretly sorts through the mail while he's at school and places Keiko's letters underneath his pillow.
- On the last Saturday before the Okabes move, Henry goes with Mrs. Beatty to Camp Harmony and seeks out Keiko.
- She tells him they're going to a place called Camp Minidoka in Idaho, and Henry says that he wishes they could stay together.
- Because this is the last time that he'll see Keiko in a while, he wants to tell her that he's sorry about how wary he was of her on that first day she came to school—that he recognizes that they're not all that different after all.
- And Keiko tells him that she's sorry for all the trouble she's caused in his family; after all, things aren't going great between Henry and his parents right now.
- Henry wants to tell Keiko that he loves her, but in the end he chickens out, so they just talk about safe topics until it's time for him to leave.
