- Chunk, now freed from his bonds, places a call to the local police department and gets a hold of the sheriff.
- It seems these two have a long history, because the sheriff is well familiar with Chunk's tall-tale telling. He isn't buying it…but once the connection is lost, he seems a wee bit worried.
- Maybe Chunk is actually telling the truth for once?
- Sloth lowers himself into the tunnel. Chunk, determined not to leave his new friend alone, grabs a lantern and follows him.
