The Silver Chair Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

Lewis is well known for his Christian writings, and accordingly, this book stays modest to the end. If that's not enough to convince you, here's an excerpt from a letter he wrote to James E. Higgins in 1962:

Writing "juveniles" [children's books] certainly modified my habits of composition. Thus (a) it imposed a strict limit on vocabulary (b) excluded erotic love (c) cut down reflective and analytical passages (d) led me to produce chapters of nearly equal length, for convenience in reading aloud.

There you have it: absolutely no mention of erotic love.
