Toy Story Identity Quotes

How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Toy Story.

Quote #4

ANDY: Mom, have you seen Buzz?

ANDY'S MOM: He should be right in your room, where you left him? Andy, I'm heading out the door!

ANDY: Mom, I can't find him!

ANDY'S MOM: Well honey, just take some other toy. Now, come on!

This is a super sad scene (and the dialogue doesn't totally do it justice), but Woody gets to watch this whole exchange as Andy desperately looks for his missing Buzz Lightyear toy. Woody finally understands the truth—his identity has changed and he's no longer Andy's favorite toy.

Quote #5

WOODY: He doesn't realize I'm not there? I'm lost! I'm a lost toy!

This is another really bummer moment. Woody's feeling a lot of things here in just a few seconds. He feels betrayed by Andy—doesn't the kid realize one of his favorite toys is missing? Doesn't he care? And then Woody's identity has changed again. He's not Andy's toy anymore. He's now officially lost.

Quote #6

WOODY: You. Are. A. Toy! You aren't the real Buzz Lightyear! You—you're an action figure! You are a child's play thing!

BUZZ: You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity.

Poor Buzz. He just doesn't get it. No matter how many times Woody tries to explain to him what's going on, Buzz can't get it through his head. (The helmet probably doesn't help matters, either.)
