Character Analysis
Corny Kelleher is the undertaker's assistant. He appears in "Hades," and is lounging in a doorframe in "The Wandering Rocks," from which he spits grotesquely. Bloom sees him passing by at the close of "Circe," and gets him to help talk down the Irish police. Kelleher is friendly with the two of them, and convinces them that Stephen is no trouble. Bloom thanks Corny profusely despite the fact that Corny refuses to take Stephen to Sandymount. As he rides off, he seems quite amused by Bloom's predicament.
