Ned Lambert

Character Analysis

Lambert is a fictional character who works in a seed and grain store in Mary's Abbey in central Dublin. In "Hades," he goes to Dignam's funeral with the men and comforts Simon Dedalus when he gets distraught thinking of his wife Mary. Later in "Aeolus," Lambert makes excessive fun of Dan Dawson's flowery speech. He appears intermittently later in the novel, and is one of the jury members at Bloom's masochistic court fantasy.
