Molly Bloom's father, who she remembers fondly back in Gibraltar. He was married to Lunita Laredo, and there are certain hints that a) he may not have actually been a Major and b) that he and Lunita were not actually married. You could waste a lot of time trying to get to the bottom of this mystery.
