Character Analysis
Tommy Tammisimo is Cole's fake friend who's actually a huge bully. He pretends (we assume) in order to please the parental units in the picture. Oh, and probably also for acting practice.
Yeah, that's right, Tommy's a child actor, and he tells absolutely everyone about it. His big claim to fame is having starred in a commercial for cough syrup.
So we're not talking Oscar noms, but you'd never know it from Tommy's big talk about what it was like shooting that one commercial:
TOMMY: The star of the commercial always gets his own trailer.
DARREN: For what?
TOMMY: He needs a place to think about his character alone.
DARREN: You only had one line!
Tommy probably gets knocked down a few pegs, though, when Cole gets the lead role in the school play, and Tommy has to play the village idiot.
