- Azalea teaches the girls a dance in the garden when they're alone, which involves jumping from stone to stone in a small pond in the garden, but Mr. Hyette catches them at it, and gloats about catching them dancing in public while in mourning. He even saw their ankles—gasp.
- The girls run to the King, screeching about Mr. Hyette spying on them, and he violently throws Mr. Hyette out. This is when the girls realize that this particular bit of royal business could be fun.
