June only makes one appearance in the story, but if it weren't for her, Sam's blood would probably be drained from his body now. She's the sister of Maya LaRouche, the psychic Sam visits to try to get answers about Douglas and his necromancy abilities, except she lives in New Orleans, not Seattle. In fact, she left Seattle specifically to escape dealing with Douglas. "Honey," she tells Sam, "down here they'd call me a voodoo queen. I can raise the dead so fast your head might spin clean off" (17.42). Since one character has already lost her head, we're glad she doesn't literally try that.
