- Okay, something is definitely up. When Mr. Williams visited, they were not allowed to walk together in the garden, and Mrs. Jewkes is no longer behaving in a particularly friendly way to Mr. Williams.
- Pamela managed to covertly suggest to Mr. Williams that they resume their correspondence via the tiles.
- Then, she wrote him a note chewing him out for being so open with Mrs. Jewkes and asking what he said. She also thinks they should resume their plans to get her out via the back door—and quickly, too.
