Pamela Chapter 63 Summary

Sunday Evening

  • Later that day, Pamela writes that Mrs. Jewkes has received a letter from Mr. B, and his carriage has returned without him.
  • Then, she found a letter from the master to Mrs. Jewkes lying around unattended. Hmm . . .
  • In addition to containing lots of threats and nastiness pertaining to Pamela, the letter indicates Mr. B has gone to Stamford to deal with the Mr. Williams situation and would be gone until the following evening.
  • Sweet! She can sleep easy tonight.
  • Pamela read, transcribed, and replaced the letter in its original spot just in time for Mrs. Jewkes's return.
