Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Scene 4 Summary

  • Obi-Wan and Anakin arrive in the observation chamber and find Chancellor Palpatine seemingly alone and handcuffed to a fancy swivel chair.
  • Oh, wait, he's not alone. Count Dooku is there, flanked by two droids.
  • Chancellor Palpatine begs Obi-Wan and Anakin to get help. Dooku is a Sith Lord, after all, and they're no match for him. (Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence.)
  • They all pull out lightsabers (Dooku's is red because he's the bad guy), and they all eagerly start battling.
  • Dooku flings Obi-Wan across the room using the Force and covers him with a huge block of concrete so that Anakin has to face him alone.
  • Dooku tries to psych out Anakin by telling him how he senses hate, anger, and fear within him, but that he doesn't use it to his advantage.
  • Anakin stays cool … and chops off both of Dooku's hands in one fell swoop.
  • Chancellor Palpatine applauds Anakin in a creepy way and then tells him to kill Count Dooku.
  • Anakin trembles with confusion, saying he shouldn't do it.
  • But, Palpatine gives him just a little more encouragement, and Anakin happily goes medieval on Dooku.
  • Anakin mopes despite Palpatine's glowing approval because killing an unarmed prisoner isn't the Jedi way.
  • Palpatine reassures Anakin that it's only natural to want revenge against Dooku because he's the one who cut off his arm.
  • (Remember, "revenge" isn't supposed to be in a Jedi's vocabulary.)
  • They need to leave before more security droids arrive. Palpatine doesn't want Anakin to waste time by grabbing the unconscious Obi-Wan, but Anakin insists.
