Character Analysis
As an upstanding politician (a rare breed in this galaxy), Organa is a close ally of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and the Jedi Council. He is instrumental in rescuing Yoda after his inconclusive battle with Darth Sidious as well as helping to try and mitigate the results of the disastrous Order 66 (Palpatine's standing kill-all-the-Jedi command).
He is also pretty close to Padmé through their work together in the Senate, which probably helps influence his decision to adopt her daughter, Leia, and raise her as his own.
