- After this whole fiasco, Princess Pea gives Roscuro freedom to roam in both the upstairs world and the dungeons. He never really feels like he fits in no matter where he is.
- But he does one good thing: he tells the princess all about the prisoner in the dungeons who traded his daughter for a red tablecloth, a hen, and some cigarettes.
- So the princess sets him free and he's reunited with his daughter, Miggery Sow.
- Even though Mig never gets to be a princess, she finally has a dad who will take care of her and treat her like a princess.
- Despereaux and Princess Pea become the best of the friends. They sit in the banquet hall together, in full view of the king and everyone else, and eat soup. What a dream come true.
