How It All Goes Down

- Kate meets a nice boy at the hospital by the name of Taylor Ambrose. He's got a lot going for him: He's cute, his name's Taylor, and he's chronically ill—it's a trifecta of perfection for a teen girl with leukemia.
- Taylor holds her hand through chemo and asks her to the hospital dance.
- She gets to wear a pretty dress and go to the dance, and gets some hot smooching action, too.
- After the dance, Taylor doesn't call her for three days, though. What a jerk.
- Oh wait, turns out that he died. Oops, our bad. Sara keeps it from Kate for a whole month, because she thinks the news will make Kate worse.
- Kate is furious when she finds out Sara has kept this from her. "'Don't talk to me,' [Kate] murmurs. 'You're good at that'" (7.3.161).
