Somiss

Somiss oppresses both our protagonists (albeit in different time periods), and he generally makes life unpleasant for the people around him. He literally owns Franklin, and he doesn't seem to care about his welfare, except in the way that someone would care about keeping a car in running condition. Somiss is spoiled, arbitrary, and cruel. People like him are why we can't have nice things.
