Character Analysis
Joseph is one of Will's roommates at the academy. He's "almost as big as Luke, but he always stood with his shoulders rounded and his head down" (28.11). At one point he asks Franklin when they'll be fed, saying, "Somiss said we would die, but most of us are thinking that was… an exaggeration" (30.15). But Franklin corrects him—it was no exaggeration. In fact, Hahp assumes at one point that Joseph has died (44.4).
