The Green Time
- Gyaar breaks the news to Cam that he's got a new job: personal guard for Graceful.
- Wait, isn't that like a nursemaid? Cam is not impressed. He doesn't want the job, but he doesn't really have a choice, so he takes it after cussing a couple times.
- Cam goes looking for Diido and it turns out she's got a new job too: maid-in-waiting to Graceful. Unlike Cam, though, she's excited about her new gig—it sure beats hanging out with dull-witted fish all day.
- Cam goes to the women's quarters to see Graceful, and she's happy to see him—it's always nice to have a friendly face around.
- She seems different to Cam somehow, now that she is Gyaar's wife.
- They check in with each other to make sure they're on the same page: Gyaar doesn't know they used to be engaged, right? Right. Let's keep it that way.
- Day after day, Cam and Graceful meet up. Diido doesn't like this because it seems like a betrayal to Gyaar somehow, though Cam's not sure why.
- When Cam sees Gyaar, he gives his master a hard time about the fact that he hasn't even consummated his marriage yet. Ouch.
- Gyaar is butt hurt and tells Cam to get out. Now.
- One day Graceful asks Cam if he hates her, and he assures her he does not; the pair keep talking and sharing stuff.
- Then Gyaar comes to the garden where Graceful spends most of her time to have tea with her. He's pleased the guards and servants love her after just two seasons.
- She's very straight with him: He's a killer and a thief and has treated her people poorly, so she will be the one to decide if and when he gets invited into her bedchamber.
- Gyaar is surprised, and tells her that they've got to do the deed at some point—otherwise they won't have heirs.
- Graceful asks to go to the council. She was ashamed when she was asked about the people where she lives and she couldn't answer, so she wants to get to know the Uplanders so she knows what she's talking about.
- Cam finds Diido one day and asks her to marry him—she agrees and they kiss. Yay. They'll still keep their jobs, but he wants to be with her.
- Out in the garden, Gyaar shows Graceful the tree that was planted when his sister Shi-mii was born. It's a Ryuu tradition for girl babies.
- Graceful wants a tree, and Gyaar says it should be a willow because of her nature.
- Gyaar starts to get frustrated with waiting. He wants to make Graceful happy, but he doesn't know how.
- Cam and Diido gossip about the couple sometimes, and they think Graceful is making Gyaar work for it. Soon she'll ask him though, Diido thinks.
