First there was the land. Wang Lung was a farmer who lived on that land. Then he got married, got rich, and had kids. Wang Lung moved away from land. Then problems started. When he got older, Wang Lung remembered the land, but it was too late. His children have already forgotten the land, and it's easy to see that more trouble is coming.
