Flicker
- Joni's mom is psyched to see Paul, despite the fact that Joni's told her not to let Paul in.
- Chuck, she says, just left, and now he and Joni are on the phone.
- Of course.
- Paul marches up to Joni's room—needless to say, she's not too happy to see him.
- Having taken a cue from Tony, Paul stands his ground. He tells Joni what Tony needs from them, and that they need to be there to support him since he's never asked them for anything before.
- Joni says she has other plans and doesn't need to be there in person to support him.
- Paul tells her she knows the right thing to do, and leaves; on the way out, Joni's mom gives him a hug.
- It's only two days until the dance. The committee has a lot of work to do.
- They decorate the gym in bright colors—they're avoiding black and celebrating death. Everyone's wearing an heirloom from someone they loved who passed away.
- Paul sets up candles under the bleachers, and Noah comes and asks if that isn't a fire hazard.
- Paul responds by lighting the candles, and the two have a steamy make-out session.
- Everything's going so well that Paul doesn't want anyone else to intrude, but then he thinks of Tony and he's ready to open the doors.
