The Demon & the Old B****
- In a not-so-pleasant place called Hell, an Englishwoman named Estella (who is known around Jaipur as "the old bitch") takes tea with a demon named Vasudev.
- They're haggling over a recent earthquake in Kashmir, where a bunch of kids are trapped underneath the rubble.
- As the ambassador to Hell, Estella is there to get as many lives out of the wreckage as possible, which she needs to discuss with the demon.
- Vasudev only wants to give her five, but Estella wants at least ten to survive. Finally he tells her that he'll give her all of the children if she can deliver a particular curse for him.
- He whispers to her that she should deliver a curse to the new baby daughter of the Political Agent in Jaipur.
- Estella is totally horrified, but she can't say no to all of those children surviving the earthquake, so she makes a deal with the devil.
