Consequences
- After Roscuro's appearance at the banquet leads to the queen's death, the king's men descend on the dungeons determined to kill the rat.
- But the soldiers get lost in the maze-like dungeons, and in the end the king just decrees that all rats are outlaws. He never wants them in his kingdom again.
- Meanwhile, Roscuro sits with a spoon on his head and fashions a kingly cape out of the red tablecloth that he stole. And he also thinks of his revenge.
- He blames Princess Pea for giving him such a dirty look, and he's going to make her suffer someday.
- And Roscuro spends years plotting his revenge, which leads to the day that Despereaux is thrown into the dungeons for breaking the laws of mice.
- At the same time, a girl named Miggery Sow approaches the castle…and soon, all three of these characters will come together in one story.
