In Which the Princess Says His Name
- Despereaux bursts onto the scene and tells the princess that he's come to rescue her. She speaks his name; she remembers the little mouse who came to listen to music in her room.
- He's so delighted by the fact that she remembers his name that he runs toward her. But Roscuro blocks his way and threatens to hurt the mouse.
- That's when Mig steps in with her knife, intending to cut off the rat's head…but she misses.
