Revolver 1899 Nome / Chapter 5 Summary

Frontier

  • (Psst… In case you didn't notice, we're hanging out in 1899 now.)
  • Einar decides to head out to Nome in search of gold; the gold rush is in full swing, and he wants a piece of the pie.
  • But not all that glitters is gold, and Einar pleads with the captain as a boat sails off, just beyond their view—to their future.
  • He and his family are supposed to be on the boat, but instead they are watching it slip away. He begs and pleads, saying his wife is dying and he needs to get her on that boat. Stat.
  • It's no use, though—they can't risk 250 men just to save one woman.
  • Even though Einar knows they're right, he still argues.
  • Einar thinks to himself that greed brought him here—if he hadn't been so greedy and eager to cash in, maybe they wouldn't be in this situation.
  • He hopes faith can save them.
