Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging Chapter 6 Summary

January: Exploding Knickers

  • Georgia makes a lengthy list of New Year's Resolutions that include being a better person and thinking more positively about herself. Let's hope it works…
  • Jas might have glandular fever, which is a fancy term for mono, a.k.a. the kissing disease.
  • Georgia goes to visit Jas, but her gal pal won't tell her what's wrong.
  • Georgia laments over her own troubles, like when Libby's knickers exploded on top of a water slide.
  • Jas finally reveals that she's depressed about not having a boyfriend and isn't actually ill.
  • Georgia gets Jas to be positive about her physical appearance, though, until she eventually perks up.
  • In feline news, Angus leaves his snacks (a.k.a. animal remains) in Georgia's backpack because he's evil.
  • Georgia asks her mum for a nose reduction, which—surprise, surprise—doesn't go over well.
  • Mum asks Georgia if she misses her dad. Georgia's response is "who?"
  • Jas and Georgia take their measurements just to feel badly about themselves and comment on each other's bodies. Someone get these kids a better hobby.
  • Georgia and her friends spend their double period in town. Again, Georgia wants her hair to be blonde.
  • She and Jas end the day by singing "Respect" by Aretha Franklin on the way home. Maybe they can put some of that R-E-S-P-E-C-T into practice and stop scoring each other's bodies.
