Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging Love Quotes

How we cite our quotes: (Chapter.Paragraph)

Quote #1

I swear he was so gorgeous it made you blink and open your mouth like a goldfish. (2.222)

Robbie rocks Georgia's world, coming out of nowhere and hitting her like a ton of bricks. When it comes to Robbie, Georgia's romantic feelings are basically stupefying.

Quote #2

They saw us and Robbie caught my eye and he smiled […] I had forgotten what a Sex God he is. He's all muscly and dark and ooohhhhh. I smiled back […] Then from behind me came Lindsay and crossed over to Robbie. He had been smiling at her!!! My face was so red you could fry an egg on it. Robbie kissed Lindsay on the cheek. (5.562)

Though she barely knows the guy, Georgia has a strong response to Robbie every time she sees him. We wouldn't necessarily call it love, but it definitely has Georgia hypnotized.

Quote #3

At one stage I found myself looking straight at Robbie. He looked so cool […] Even though I hate him and he is a pompous pratboy, I think I may love him. (5.568)

One of the signs of Georgia's immaturity is how quickly she elevates her feelings for Robbie who (1) she doesn't really know that well and (2) is kind of a jerk most of the time she interacts with him. Pro tip: True love is way better than this.

Quote #4

Outside the Odeon Robbie was waiting. My heart went all wobbly, he looked so cool. Why wasn't he mine? (9.865)

We aren't doctors, but this looks like an old-fashioned case of lovesickness, complete with a "wobbly" heart and terrible yearning. Do you think Georgia's insecurity is a factor in her Robbie worship? He's just "so cool," after all.

Quote #5

What an unbelievably BRILLIANT night. Double cool with knobs. Robbie KISSED me. The Sex God has landed. (11.1010)

We pretty much had to include a quote in which Georgia refers to Robbie as "Sex God," and this moment when our main girl finally gets her man seems like the perfect example. We're pretty sure Georgia is half a diary entry away from starting to plan their wedding, but we're not so confident Robbie shares her full enthusiasm since he's been such a tough sell up until this point.

Quote #6

Robbie said, "Well, I'm glad, but it's not that. I've just been meaning to give you this." Then he kissed me!!! I went completely jelloid—it was like being part girl, part jellyfish. It was megabrillant. Twenty out of ten-type kissing. I got all that stuff you're supposed to have—fireworks wooshing in your head, bands playing, sea crashing in and out… I don't know how long it went on for, I was faint. (11.1014)

Georgia has waited so long for this moment, and when it finally arrives, it (fortunately) doesn't disappoint. Phew.

Quote #7

When Robbie took the stage again I had to stop myself gazing at him like an idiot. He was so gorgeous and he had kissed me! (11.1018)

This is another moment when Georgia expresses her physical attraction toward Robbie. But we have a question: Is it love if she thinks openly admiring him makes her an "idiot"? Why or why not?

Quote #8

Oh why this? Why would he be such a pig as to say that? Oh I hate him, I hate him […] I hate him, I hate him […] Oh I love him […] I love him. (11.1051-1053)

Robbie tells Lindsay that Georgia kissed him, rather than vise versa. Say what? Despite her anger, though, Georgia still has it hard for Robbie. What can we say? She's pretty easily distracted by chest muscles and not necessarily super solid about what counts as loving behavior.

Quote #9

Robbie has just gone. I feel all hollow inside like a hallowed-out coconut. He looked so gorgeous, all in black and sort of sad. He gave me a brilliant smile when he saw me and then he just pulled me toward him […]. (12.1100)

Robbie tells Georgia they can't be together and she's left heartbroken. Too bad we doubt anyone can convince her that he's not nearly as awesome as she believes.

Quote #10

So all is well that ends well, I am now nearly Robbie's girlfriend, hahahaha. Summer love, summer love!!! (12.1166)

Robbie and Georgia decide to give their love a try (or, Robbie decides to—Georgia's been game from the beginning). Importantly, she's only "nearly" his girlfriend, too. We're sure she wouldn't agree, but we're thinking this trip to New Zealand is actually pretty well-timed.
