- NYPD Detective James Edwards chases down a criminal because, um… reasons. The perp is supernaturally athletic and keeps giving him the slip. Edwards catches him, but the criminal pulls out a strange weapon that disintegrates when Edwards knocks it out of his hand.
- Edwards corners the criminal on the roof of the Guggenheim museum, but the guy warns Edwards that his world's about to end. He blinks a second set of eyelids before jumping off the building.
