Something Sweet from Moonshine
- Two local guys, Ashby Durwin and his buddy Rush, have a moonshine operation running on the Cimarron River—at least until they get busted. Among the jugs of illegal booze, the sheriff uncovers a thousand pounds of sugar.
- He gives it to Miss Freeland and tells her to bake a bunch of goodies for the children, thinking that something good should come out of the lawlessness. She basically turns the school into Candy Land, making custard, cobbler, cakes, cookies, pies, and something called apple pandowdy, which sounds pretty amazing.
