Midnight Truth

  • Billie Jo awakes from the dream filled with anger and a strong sense of loss, reminded of the loss of Ma and how empty her life is without her. She knows that she and her mother could have loved and understood each other better, but it's too late for that now.
  • It's also too late, apparently, for Billie Jo to connect with her father. They've had some moments where things have been the way they once were, but mostly she feels like he doesn't even notice her.
  • On top of that, he's digging his own grave—both literally and figuratively. He has the same illness that killed his father, but would rather rot away and leave Billie Jo than live.
  • Billie Jo decides that she isn't going to wait around for this to happen. We've got a bad feeling about this…
