- After the car debacle, Matthew decides that he's going to have to grit his teeth and talk to his father. He and Callie have the same dad—Benjamin Walsh—and while they don't see much of him because Nikki got full custody, he does send in child support each month.
- Ben is a nurse and he sends in child support money every single month—even for Emmy, who is not his own kid.
- Matthew calls Ben and asks him if they can meet up alone. He wants to ask his dad if he can take in all three of the kids and save them from Nikki.
