The 5th Wave Chapter 33 Summary

  • Cassie's waking up. She doesn't think she's dead. She thinks there's a dude with her, but she can't see him.
  • Things are less foggy now and she realizes she's in a bed, with an IV in her arm. Hmm. Interesting.
  • She can't feel her legs. That's never a great sign.
  • Cassie hears someone coming up the stairs. Understandably, this makes her nervous. She decides to play dead.
  • She sort of peeks out at the guy who's now in her room, and hopes he's not going to kill her.
  • He speaks! The guy tells Cassie that he knows she's awake. He even uses her first name.
  • The guy introduces himself. Meet Evan Walker, Cassie's mysterious savior.
  • They get to know each other a little. Evan says his family is dead.
  • He also tells her he's surprised she's still alive. He found her in pretty bad shape, sounds like.
  • Evan asks Cassie what happened. She tells him about her father's death and Sammy's… alien-napping?
  • She thinks Sammy must be alive. Why would they have taken him away just to kill him?
  • Evan tells Cassie that she's been with him for a week. Oh, and her leg wasn't amputated. That's good.
