The Raven Boys Chapter 8 Summary

  • At the end of her shift, Blue goes outside and heads down the stairs. She unlocks her bike, thinking that one day she'll live someplace with no streetlights so that she can see the stars.
  • Someone approaches her, and she sees that it was the boy from the restaurant who wanted to talk to her—Adam. He's alone, which makes her feel less aggressive.
  • He is also pushing a bicycle, which surprises her, and she notices that his sweater is frayed. Adam tells her that he wants to apologize on behalf of his friend, and that it's partially his fault too, since he was too chicken to go talk to Blue himself earlier.
  • Even though Blue has a strict rule to stay away from boys, she can't help herself; something about this boy interests her. She grabs a piece of paper from her pocket and writes down her name and phone number before she can change her mind.
  • He smiles and tells her that he's glad he came back, then bikes away. Blue is standing there thinking about what she's just done when the back door of Nino's opens and her manager calls out to her.
  • The rude boy with the cell phone left his big leather bound journal behind. As she flips through, she sees a bunch of stuff about ley lines, someone named Glendower, and an image of three intersecting lines—the same image that she's seen Neeve draw in dust.
  • Her manager asks her if she knows who it belongs to, and she says yes, intrigued by why an Aglionby boy would be interested in such weird supernatural stuff.
