The Raven Boys Theme of The Supernatural

The Raven Boys is filled to the brim with supernatural phenomena, including ghosts, ley lines, and creepy rituals. Gansey's hunt for the ley lines and the buried Welsh king, Glendower, is punctuated by lots of odd findings, like the changing seasons in Cabeswater and the trees that speak in Latin. And Blue's life is already full of the supernatural, of course, since her family is made up of a bunch of psychics who constantly perform rituals, commune with spirits, and all that good stuff. Heck, one of the main characters, Noah Czerny, is even an actual ghost haunting his school friends.

Chew on This

Try on an opinion or two, start a debate, or play the devil’s advocate.

Blue is so accustomed to the supernatural in her everyday life that she's the perfect addition to Gansey's group of friends. She doesn't even question his search for ley lines and Glendower; she just accepts it as the truth.

Even though the raven boys and Blue find out that Noah is a ghost, it doesn't change the nature of their relationship. They remain normal friends despite his ghostly status.
