Unforgiven Scene 17 Summary

  • It's daytime in Big Whiskey. English Bob is in a carriage, his hands in cuffs.
  • Bill tells the driver to let him out of his cuffs once they leave the county. Bob asks for his guns.
  • Bill gives them to him. He has bent the barrels so they're no longer useful.
  • Bill says if he ever sees English Bob there again he'll start shooting and claim self-defense.
  • As the carriage departs, Bob starts shouting insults to the bystanders watching. He says the prostitutes have no honor, and that all the people in America are just "savages."
  • Alice watches Bob depart, and says nobody is going to come now, not after what Little Bill has done to English Bob.
  • Skinny tells Delilah to go clean the tables. He also makes a rude remark about her face, saying she could get some clients if she covered her face.
  • Alice, an upset look on her face, says the rain is coming.
  • We suspect a metaphor here, but we also know that Will, the Kid, and Ned will be coming with the rain.
