Will Grayson, Will Grayson Chapter 17 Summary

Will Grayson

  • The next day at school, Will talks to Tiny, but Tiny doesn't mention that he and the other will grayson broke up. He finally hears it from Jane.
  • Will takes this as a bad sign. When Tiny Cooper doesn't spend hours moaning to you about his heartbreak, things are not looking good for your friendship.
  • That night, Will hangs out with Jane but it's just not the same. He misses Tiny. He actually misses him.
  • In school the next morning, Will starts to type an email to Tiny but never sends it. He misses him. Guess he didn't know what he had until he lost it. Just like with Jane.
  • Later that day in the hallway, Tiny stops Will to tell him the truth: He and the other will grayson broke up. Does Will want to get dinner or something?
  • Will says no. He is sort of tired of being Tiny's Plan B, and he also probably can't make it to the play.
  • Yes, Will is kind of trying to hurt Tiny's feelings here. Poor Will. Poor Tiny.
  • Jane also talks to Will about their relationship status. Are they or are they not dating? These are important questions, people. Facebook profiles must be updated.
  • Just then, Will realizes that he does want to date Jane. He also loves Tiny Cooper more than anyone else in the world. In a totally best friend kind of way, of course.
  • So Will runs to the Little League field to find Tiny. Why would Tiny be there? Because he and Will are best friends and Will knows that Tiny will be looking for him there. It's true bromance, yo.
  • They talk for a minute, and finally Tiny says the magic words—he's sorry. He's sorry that he said all that stuff to Gary and about making Will into his little tag-along.
  • Will has to admit that he loves Tiny, too; they can both be terrible to each other, but darn it, they're best friends and Will loves him.
  • And of course Tiny loves him. Heck, he practically wrote an entire play about Will and their friendship.
  • Now that everything is cool, Will wants to know if he can help with the play. Tiny thought he'd never ask—he needs help backstage, some Will Grayson-type clothes for the Phil Wrayson character, and a pre-show mix CD. Kthxbai.
  • Will agrees and finishes up by saying that he's sorry about the other will grayson.
  • Tiny is bummed, but he'll get over it. Now on with the show.
