Lockdown Chapter 16 Summary

  • It's group therapy time, and everyone's sitting in a circle. The girls are there, too.
  • Miss Rossetti wants to start by having each person discuss their fears. First up is Play, who is afraid of…nothing.
  • Diego says he's afraid to leave his neighborhood and accidentally cross into another gang's turf.
  • King Kong thinks that's stupid because he's a jerk.
  • Miss Rossetti says that violence is a perfectly normal thing to be afraid of. She's trying really hard to make this work.
  • Diego's also afraid of getting randomly shot, which is also a valid fear.
  • Toon's up next—he's afraid of disappointing his parents.
  • King Kong, however, is afraid of nothing. If anyone messes with him, he'll take care of them (though historically speaking, we know this isn't true).
  • Eileen's afraid of losing her child, but she's crying, so she sort of stops mid-thought.
  • Reese says he's not sure what he's afraid of—death, maybe.
  • Miss Rossetti is also afraid of death.
  • Eileen's talking about her baby again; apparently she's also somewhat randomly afraid of fires.
  • Kat is afraid of nothing. She's not afraid to die, and she starts talking about the guy she stabbed. And with that, group therapy is over.
