Chapter 15
- Florian's been hinting at a new task for Theo, and he finally brings him to a spot where his Children are waiting for them. He's got a surprise for Theo—a deconstructed printing press, which Theo's got to put back together, so the group can use it to spread their ideas. In particular, Florian wants to show how bad Cabbarus is by flyering the city with posters saying the Royal Officers killed an innocent guy (Anton).
- So Theo works two jobs—scribing during the day, and printing press construction at night; his apprentice (a.k.a. devil) is Zara.
- When the press is finally complete, the group holds a celebration, where Flo's friend Luther says that Las Bombas, Musket, and Mickle have been captured in the town of Nierkeeping—LB is even strung up in a cage.
- Theo insists he has to go rescue them. Florian agrees to come with him, with Luther hinting at some big risk and rewards they could achieve by going. Hmm… what is Florian planning?
