Please Ignore Vera Dietz Part 1, Chapter 19 Summary

History—Age Thirteen—Summer

  • During the summer between seventh and eighth grade, Vera's dad has her stuffing envelopes as a job and working in the garden more.
  • He lets her hang out with Charlie in the tree house but doesn't allow sleepovers anymore. He also tells her that she can't date Charlie because of what his parents' relationship is like, and Vera understands, but she still secretly loves Charlie.
  • She also still volunteers at the pet store, which she, um, also loves.
