Please Ignore Vera Dietz Part 2, Chapter 4 Summary

New Year's Day—Four to Close

  • Vera is the only driver in on time on New Year's Day, which is why Marie (her boss) loves her. James comes in and winks at Vera, which makes her feel all fluttery inside.
  • It's so busy that Jill offers to get her boyfriend Mick—a skinhead Nazi—to help them run pizzas, though thankfully their boss doesn't go for that.
  • At the end of the day, Vera offers to drive Jill home because she's nervous about being alone with James. When she takes her home, Jill's boyfriend, Mick, is waiting.
  • When Vera returns, James is in the parking lot and looking pretty hot. He asks her if she wants to go to the pagoda after work to make out (how romantic) and she says yes.
