Go Ask Alice Chapters 101-110 Summary

Chapter 101: November 23

  • Well, Alice and Chris have fallen off the wagon. Shocking, we know.
  • The party, and the people there, are all super glamorous and Alice is blinded by the utter opulence.
  • When she smells the hash, she can't wait to get her hands on it.
  • Then she alludes to the fact that she had sex with someone (because she's not looking forward to the wait-until-my-period-shows-up anxiety), and insists she should really get on the pill. (Like that's her biggest problem…)

Chapter 102

  • Now Chris and Alice are regulars at Shelia's parties. They crash there all the time, especially because it's just so much nicer than their little apartment/rat's nest.

Chapter 103: December 3

  • This entry is pretty hard to read. Shelia and her current beau, Rod, introduce the girls to heroin. Alice really likes the sensation of being high on heroin, but then it gets worse: While the girls were high, Shelia and Rod take turns brutally raping them.
  • The girls go home and agree they can't do drugs any more; it's just too dangerous.

Chapter 104: Still December 3

  • The girls decide they have to leave town. They can't face seeing Shelia again, and they both seem to think that a new location will allow them to start fresh.
  • Alice regrets having to leave Mr. Mellani.

Chapter 105: December 5

  • They are looking for a new place to start a jewelry boutique and hunker down. The idea is to have Alice make original pieces and Chris will use her contacts from her previous place to buy from suppliers.

Chapter 106: December 6

  • They find their new home/shop in Berkeley. It's a little first-floor apartment so they will live out of the kitchen and bedroom and sell jewelry out of their living room and dining room.
  • They've got big plans about how they're going to redecorate the place to make it totally awesome.

Chapter 107: December 9

  • Alice and Chris have been working their little butts off getting the place ready to open as a jewelry showroom. They "joke" about how they'd love a Dexie to help them out but that's just silly, they're never going to use drugs again.

Chapter 108: December 10

  • First day open for business and they've already made twenty bucks (which is good, for back then).

Chapter 109: December 12

  • Their business model might be changing a bit since kids come in to watch their TV or just to hang out. The girls are thinking about charging them for sodas and TV privileges.

Chapter 110: December 13

  • One of the guys who has been hanging out in the store offers to sell them his stereo and they jump on the opportunity.
  • Alice is glad she's so exhausted because she's not sure she can handle thinking about the fact that Christmas is coming up.
