- In the now: Jack stops coming to Mrs. Stone's classroom to sit and work with Nikki. She starts going a little stir-crazy.
- Nikki looks for Jack during lunch, and finds him sitting with Jules—they seem pretty close. Are they together now?
- Nikki goes back to the convenience store to snoop around. She's on her hands and knees inspecting the floor when Jack asks what she's looking for. She stands up so quickly that she hits his face with her head, making his lip bleed a little.
- Embarrassed, Nikki pulls out the closest thing to a tissue, which is a tea cozy she's been knitting. It's both funny and awkward.
- Then Nikki sees Gavin, the drummer of the Dead Elvises. She doesn't want him to suspect anything, so she runs out of there, leaving Jack wondering what she was doing.
- Nikki leaves the store and sits down on the curb. Mary sits down next to her.
- Strangely, Mary says she comes there a lot, too. Is it a clue? Nope, Mary basically admits to shoplifting because the cashier doesn't notice much.
- Before leaving, Mary tells Nikki that she hopes she finds what she's looking for.
