- One day, Cole comes by her house. He doesn't look as smug or happy as usual; he asks how she stayed young during the Feed. She evades the question, and he says he can wait—he's got another ninety-nine years to figure it out.
- Now Jack comes to Nikki's dreams every night. Nikki knows how she stayed young during the Feed: She had an anchor, a tether who dreamed of her every night she was gone. Jack did that for her, and now she's doing that for Jack.
- Nikki has her family back, but she's determined to find Jack again someday.
