the face of clubs
- Ed is pleased with himself. He got three names, and he's completed his three assignments—so he decides to head back to the stones to see if his mystery guide agrees.
- Over at the stones, he sees the names. Thomas O'Reilly: check; Angie Carusso: check; Gavin Rose: nothing.
- At first he thinks it's a mistake, but after a couple days, Ed realizes he's not done with Gavin Rose yet… He just doesn't know why.
- He finds out one day when he runs in to Gavin and Daniel while out and about. They've been looking for him, and they brought along some friends as well.
- It's lights out for Ed, and he gets beaten to a pulp.
- After he can walk again, he heads back up to the stones, and Gavin's name is crossed out. Phew.
- When he looks in the mirror and sees nothing but a swollen jaw and black eyes, he thinks, yep, that's the face of clubs all right.
