the casual suit

  • Tommy chases after Ed and asks him if everything is okay. They chat for a bit and Tommy says he'll call Ed soon—but Ed knows he won't, and tells says as much right to Tommy's face. He's not trying to be mean, he just wants everyone to stop faking.
  • Ed's mom comes out and tells him Merry Christmas. He tells her that she can't blame their town for him not achieving anything. And with that, he leaves.
  • When he gets to Milla's, she got a gift for him. He feels badly because he didn't get her anything, but she says he's given her enough already. When unwraps the gift, it's a suit, and though he knows he doesn't have anywhere to wear it, he tries it on anyway.
  • They have coffee and Milla tells him it's been a great day. As he leaves, Ed thinks about how he's done this old lady a big favor by keeping her company on Christmas day when she has no one. Wait a minute… he realizes that actually the opposite is true.
  • In his cab, Ed gives Simon (Audrey's BF) a ride. He's straight up with Ed, and asks if he loves Audrey. Ed's not really sure what to say… but then Simon says she doesn't want to love Ed, but does anyway.
